The initial idea behind this design was to allow the user to use fabrics or blankets as a head board. The high bar at the head of the bed would make it easy to hang and change the fabrics or blankets. In my opinion, this would perfectly answer to the need for personalization which is common in the new era of home styling. Whilst working on the design, I soon realized that the bar would also be perfect for hanging clothes hangers. This resulted in the bed being headboard, wardrobe and room divider in one. Together with the IKEA team we decided to produce the bed in untreated wood. The buyer can choose whether to paint, stain, or wax the wood offering another possibility for creative minded people.
